About the app
Reader Lite is a reading and research companion for people who give it a few web addresses and want answers. It is not a browser. Type or paste an address and the page is shown as clean text with its title, headings, paragraphs, lists, code and tables. It does not run scripts or show ads, and it keeps no cookies.
Every page you read joins a research list of up to 24 pages. Summarize the page you are on in at most six points, ask a question about one page, or ask one question across all the pages you have ticked. Each point in an answer names the passage it came from, and a click shows that page with the passage highlighted. When the pages do not answer your question, the app says so.
Use Back and Forward as in a browser, follow the page's links in the same window, or open the original page in your usual browser with one click. Pages read in a session are shown again without asking the site twice. Save a page as Markdown with its source address and the date read at the top, or save an answer with its question and sources.
Pages are read politely. The app asks each site's robots.txt first and obeys it, makes one request at a time per site with a pause between them, names itself in every request, and does not sign in or get around checks. It does not open addresses on your own computer or private network. A page that needs a sign-in says so.
Summaries and answers use OfflinAI Server running on your own PC. Without it, you get a page's description, headings and opening, and the best-matching sentences quoted with their sources. Your questions and the page text go only to OfflinAI Server on your own PC. The page requests themselves go to the sites you name. Nothing is sent to OfflinAI, there is no account, and no data is collected.
