About the app
Mail Lite is a mail-only program for people who want their e-mail in one window that opens on the list they last viewed. It works with IMAP and SMTP mail accounts, and with accounts that sign in through the browser. You need to enter a registered client id in Settings for the browser sign-in.
Mail that needs a person is kept apart from newsletters and notifications. Triage takes one key each: archive, delete, junk, move, reply, reply to all, forward, flag, pin and follow up. The last step can be undone for 30 seconds, here and on the server. A sent message waits a few seconds so you can stop it.
Pin messages to the top of a list, set follow-up reminders with a note, and send later at a time you choose. One list shows every sender that offers a way to unsubscribe, noisiest first, with unread counts. Unsubscribing always asks first.
Messages are read as text, so nothing is fetched from the web and no tracking picture loads. Links show their addresses. Attachments are listed and fetched from the server only when you save them.
The assistant uses OfflinAI Server running on your own PC. It can summarize a long message, write a digest of the day's newsletters, answer questions from your mailbox with the messages cited, search by meaning and draft a reply that opens in a window for you to change and send. Nothing is sent by the assistant. Without OfflinAI Server, you still get the opening sentences of a message, a digest listed by sender and word search.
Your mail, accounts and passwords are kept encrypted on your PC. The app connects only to your own mail servers (and to your mail provider's sign-in page when you choose browser sign-in), to a sender's unsubscribe address when you ask, and to OfflinAI Server. Nothing is sent to OfflinAI, there is no account, and no data is collected.
