OfflinAI Device Sync Lite

About the app

Device Sync Lite keeps your OfflinAI files the same on more than one computer. You pair a new computer with one that is already set up, using a short code or a QR code, and the files travel sealed, so the relay that passes them along sees only ciphertext.

Pairing uses a short code such as K7Q2-M9X-AF3, or a QR code whose text can also be copied. Both screens show a six-digit check number, and the computer already set up lets the new one in or says no. An invitation lasts an hour.

For each computer you choose which apps' files it sends and receives. You can sync now, or automatically every few minutes while the app is open (every 10 minutes by default, or only when you ask). Each computer shows when it last caught up.

If the same file is changed on two computers at once, nothing is lost. The latest version stays in place, and each other version is saved beside it, named after its computer, so you can settle it yourself.

If a computer is lost, you remove it. It is refused from then on and the space gets a new key it does not receive. Files it already has stay on it, and the app says so plainly. A recovery code of 52 letters and digits is shown once at setup, and nobody can reset it. It seals a recovery file that you keep in a folder of your choice, and the two together bring your files back on a new computer if every computer is lost.

What travels is each app's folders of your own work, such as notes, documents, transcripts, exports, recordings and pictures. Files up to 512 KB are synced. Larger files are named in the result and left out. Removing a file on one computer does not remove it on the others. Files of an app that is running wait until it closes.

The computers meet through a relay. Device Sync Lite can host one on your local network, which you switch on yourself, or you can use the address of a computer that hosts one. The relay stores only ciphertext.

There is no AI in this app. Everything stays on your devices and your network. Nothing is sent to OfflinAI, there is no account, and no data is collected.
